Compak SA

Brent Smith is a Protea clay target shooter who has represented South Africa in both the Junior and Senior national teams. He specialises in Compak Sporting and FITASC Sporting, and has competed at more than eight World Championships across both disciplines. His notable achievements include: - A 100-straight at World Championship level - Three individual 100/100 straights in official competitions - 50 consecutive targets at the World Championships in Italy - Junior and Senior Protea colours for South Africa Because he is still an active competitor, Brent keeps refining his own technique. He brings that current, practical experience straight into his coaching. His approach is built on simplicity, repeatability and sound fundamentals. Every shooter is different, so Brent starts by finding each person’s strengths. He then corrects technical weaknesses and builds a technique that suits the shooter’s natural ability. He gives equal weight to the mental side of the game. That means staying composed, making clear decisions and shooting with confidence under competition pressure. His coaching focuses on: - Stance and gun mount - Visual discipline and target reading - Timing and efficient gun movement - Staying composed under competitive pressure - Correcting technical weaknesses - Building consistency and repeatability Brent’s aim goes beyond breaking more targets. He wants shooters to leave with the confidence, technique and mental discipline to reach their full potential. That applies to newer shooters and to those aiming for national and international competition.
